The Echo in the Well
On the first half of this recording, David Whyte recites new poems from the cycle of Irish poems contained in his work, River Flow: New & Selected Poems. Drawing from places of pilgrimage he has visited during his travels, he speaks of the way the ancient Celtic tradition embodies an edge between past and present; a way that is neither this nor that; a moveable form of celebration between the two worlds that refuses to choose between them. In the second half, David uses the language of poetry to illuminate the secret voices that are present in everyday life.
